A couple of friends came over and we watched Madagascar on M-Net, and then Ghost Busters on eTV. And ate pizza. And Ghost Pops! Nice.

Unfortunately today is Diwali, and it seems that the fireworks will be continuing for a while still. It’s driving the dogs crazy – they’re scared and confused. I really can’t stand what this does to them. Looks like the dogs are sleeping in my bed tonight…

Speaking of dogs… The funniest thing happened last night when I got home. On my way around the house to unlock the kitchen door, one of the small dogs be me very excited at the prospect of me being home to let them inside, and she promptly ran into the glass door! She must have got quite a shock! Luckily she wasn’t tearing around like she does sometimes, so I don’t think she hurt herself. Poor thing… I think I’ll have to put some stickers lower down on the glass doors to show the dogs that the door’s closed!

Last night I went to see our school play with my friend Philippa – and had quite an excellent time! The young cast had us in stitches of laughter for most of the evening. And as all good functions go, there were snacks during the interval! And no, that was not my main reason for attending…

After arriving home we experienced a terrific thunderstorm. Being all alone while house-sitting, it was up to me to comfort the petrified dogs. Shame. And I had to unplug every electrical appliance for fear of it being fried. So I was really bored… All I had left was my cellphone. Luckily a friend was online using MXit, which actually helped to keep me sane. Thanks, Jan!
