It’s finally here… My TomTom ONE 3rd Edition! Okay, so I’ve only been waiting for a week, but still…

I did something almost out of character for myself: I told someone what I wanted, instead of asking what I could have. And it has turned out rather spectacularly for me: I received a free TomTom with my cellphone upgrade!

I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do with it, apart from using it to find Achsah’s house in Alberton. The odds of needing its services in Ladysmith are slim-to-none! Now, of course, I can never again use the excuse of getting lost in big cities or not knowing how to get there. Now I’m going to have a fantastic time finding places!

I haven’t actually used the device yet (apart from a 3 minute drive home from work), so I cannot give a true opinion of it. But I will say this: I love it! I will be testing it out tomorrow during a trip to Durban with my old school for a training course. So yay – I have a day off in which I can play with my new toy! Look back soon for details and possibly some sort of review…

I could handle a holiday!

Shew! I don’t know how I do it… I manage to get involved in too many things and completely tire myself out! But that’s okay – I would rather be busy than be sitting at home and learning. Learning is for sissies anyway…

But guess what? I get a whole month of leave for learning and writing exams. So from the 4th of October until the 31st. If it wasn’t for those damn exams I would have an excellent little holiday!

Guess what? I’m on strike! Okay, not really. But close! The government employed teachers at my school are striking today, and somehow I end up getting to stay at home too! Definitely no complaints there! We all go back to school on Monday, and the children should return on Wednesday for safety reasons. I’m not pretending to understand much of what’s been happening (especially as I wasn’t really paying attention during the meetings…) All I heard was “long weekend”…

Guess what? I spend yesterday in bed! Not cool. Cold. It was a complete waste of a day. I’m feeling so much better today, and I’m so glad to be back at school!  Yes, I did actually miss being at school yesterday. I also think it’s strange…

Back in the swing of things (well, almost)

The start of term kind of hit me with avengance, or something. And I completely forgot about blogging. We’re a few weeks into the term now and I do feel like I’m getting used to it now. And surprise-surprise – I’m thoroughly enjoying being back at school! I definitely do have the best job in the world! So for those of you who love children, teaching is something you should think about!
